Manchester United to make imminent bid for Portuguese midfielder
Manchester United are reportedly preparing to make a formal offer for Sporting Lisbon midfielder Bruno Fernandes in the next few hours.
The Red Devils have been heavily tipped to sign the Portuguese in the past weeks, although the club have not submitted a bid for his services.
However, a report from A Bola indicates that may soon happen with the club aiming to beat the likes of Tottenham Hotspur in the race to sign the 24-year-old midfielder.
Sporting are understood to want a package of around £63m for the player's sale but it is claimed that they could be prepared to negotiate a lesser sum between £46m and £50m for the Nations League winner.
Fernandes enjoyed a stunning campaign with Sporting last term and he contributed a sublime tally of 32 goals and 18 assists across all competitions for the club.
He currently has a £31.4m release clause on his contract but Sporting will be able to overcome that stipulation by paying him around £4.5m this summer.
