Manchester United favourites to land Roma attacker
Manchester United are understood to have jumped ahead of Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur in the race to sign Roma playmaker Nicolo Zaniolo.
Zaniolo made the switch to the Giallorossi from Inter Milan last summer and his progress has already earned him a role with the Italian national side.
Arsenal and Spurs were earlier credited with an interest in signing the 20-year-old but Calciomercato claims that the Red Devils have now jumped ahead of the queue in the player's pursuit.
The same publication claims that the club are prepared to make an opening bid in the region of £25m as they seek to beat their Premier League rivals to Zaniolo's signature.
Zaniolo, who made his senior Italy debut earlier in the year, has already shown his versatility after playing as a central midfielder, attacking midfielder and on the right wing last term.
United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has placed the interest in signing young players rather than pursuing experienced recruits and the club have so far signed Daniel James and Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
