Manchester United offer Phil Jones to sign England international?
Manchester United could reportedly offer Phil Jones in a player-plus-cash deal to sign Harry Maguire from Leicester City this summer.
The Red Devils have been locked in talks for the England international in the past few weeks but so far, they have not been able to match the Foxes' £90m valuation.
According to The Telegraph, the club are now planning to lower the Foxes' price tag for the centre-back and they are prepared to include Jones as a makeweight to push through a deal worth £70m.
Jones only penned a long-term deal with the Red Devils in January, but he is still not regarded as a starting option under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer heading into the new season.
Chris Smalling and Victor Lindelof were regularly preferred for the central defensive duties last term with Jones, Eric Bailly, Marcos Rojo acting as the back-up options.
The club have received a further boost with Axel Tuanzebe returning after a strong loan campaign with Aston Villa and they are still keen on landing Maguire to enhance their prospects of shutting down opponents.
