Arsenal misfit Shkrodan Mustafi wants to stay at club
Gunners defender Shkrodran Mustafi has hit out at rumours that he will be leaving Arsenal this summer, insisting that he wants to stay in North London and fight for his place. The German international has struggled since his arrival at the club and a number of high profile errors has cost Arsenal dearly in recent seasons.
Arsenal are ready to entertain offers for Mustafi, with the club even considering a loan departure for the German centre-back this summer. Roma, Napoli and Real Betis are amongst the teams who have shown early interest in the player.
The defender was booed in last weekend's pre-season friendly against Lyon and it is apparent the player has lost all faith of the club's supporters.
The 27-year-old arrived at Arsenal in a 35 million euro transfer move from Valencia and could even return back to his former club in a cut-price deal.
Mustafi's father - who also acts as his agent - slammed reports that his son would be leaving Arsenal and would fight for his place in the first-team: "There’s nothing in it. There has been no contact with Roma or any other Italian club."
