Rangers boss Gerrard confirms no bid for star player Morelos
Rangers manager Steven Gerrard has moved swiftly to ensure the club's fans that no bid has yet been made for Colombian striker Alfredo Morelos, despite the player's impressive form last term. The player, who is coveted by many teams in Europe including both Aston Villa and Huddersfield Town south of the border, scored an impressive 30 goals last season.
The 23-year-old striker is contracted to the club until 2023 and it is rumoured that Chinese side Hebei Fortune are in the race to sign the Colombian international striker.
The forward apparently has no interest in a move to China and is instead focused on staying with the Glasgow side.
Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard insists that no bid has been received from China yet for the striker. Gerrard told reporters:
"I'm unaware of it," prior to Rangers' Europa League qualifier away to Progres Niederkorn.
"There have been no bids. It is as you were from the last time."
Rangers had been rumoured to have accepted a £15 million bid from abroad for Morelos.
