Chelsea receive injury boost with attacker returning to training

Hudson-Odoi returns to regular training

Chelsea have received a much-needed injury boost with Callum Hudson-Odoi returning to first-team training following his recovery from an Achilles problem.

The England international picked up the injury during the month of April and he thereafter went through a surgery which has ruled him out of action to date.

However, it appears that he is on course to make a comeback by the middle of September after joining his teammates in regular training for the first time this season.

Hudson-Odoi has less than 12 months remaining on his existing deal with the Blues and so far, he has shown no indication whether he would be willing to extend his stay.

Blues boss Frank Lampard has remained positive when asked about the potential contract renewal but Hudson-Odoi may wait for a couple of months to assess whether he can command a regular role under the new manager.

Chelsea have managed to secure the single point after the opening two league games of the season. They are scheduled to face Norwich City on the road this weekend.
