Injury update on Alexandre Lacazette following north London derby
Arsenal have received a positive update on the fitness of Alexandre Lacazette following his second half substitution in the north London derby against Tottenham Hotspur.
The Gunners found themselves 2-0 down to Spurs after 41 minutes but Lacazette halved the advantage before the interval. Thereafter, the Frenchman would only feature until the 69th minute before he was subbed with a potential hamstring concern.
Unai Emery's side went on to secure a hard-fought 2-2 draw after a wonderful first-time finish from Aubameyang but a section of the fans were still worried about the fitness of Lacazette, who was previously struggling with an ankle problem.
In a report covered by Football.London, it is now revealed that the striker has not suffered a muscular problem of any sort and a medical assessment has confirmed that the marksman had only been struggling with cramp.
Arsenal have accumulated seven points after four games into the new league season and this sees them outside of the top four on goal difference. They are set to face Watford away from home following the international break.
