Manchester United make transfer decision on Bruno Fernandes
Manchester United have decided against making a fresh move for Sporting Lisbon captain Bruno Fernandes when the transfer window reopens in the New Year.
The Red Devils were hotly tipped to sign the Portugal international over the course of the summer but they were put off by Sporting's £64m valuation for the playmaker.
Still, it has been recently suggested that they could make a renewed approach for the 24-year-old at the turn of the year but that does not seem the case, according to The Sun.
As per the publication, the Red Devils are unlikely to retain their interest in Fernandes in January, considering they will place the focus on pursuing Christian Eriksen from Tottenham Hotspur.
United have lacked the presence of a creative midfielder in their ranks and Eriksen could be available for a knockdown price in four months' time, considering his contract expires at the end of the campaign.
The Denmark international has featured in each of the four league games for Tottenham Hotspur this term and he scored the opening goal in the 2-2 draw at Arsenal last weekend.
