Chelsea star expresses desire to sign new contract
Chelsea attacker Willian has acknowledged that he wants to sign a new deal with the club beyond the current season.
The Brazilian has been with the Blues for the past six campaigns but there are doubts regarding his future with his contract expiring at the end of the season.
However, speaking to Evening Standard, Willian has indicated that he has no concerns regarding his Blues stay and is willing to extend his deal with the side.
"From my side, I want to stay," Willian told the Evening Standard. "I have one year left and I want to stay because I like to play for Chelsea. I love this club. I have been here six years already so everything is perfect for me."
Prior to the international break, Willian was restricted to three appearances off the bench and his performances were far from impressive after returning from a hamstring injury setback.
Still, he was entrusted with a starting role in the recent away trip at Wolverhampton Wanderers and earned special praise from manager Frank Lampard for his fine attacking display.
