Manchester United were reportedly keeping track of Fenerbahce striker Vedat Muriqi when he was representing Kosovo on international duty this month.

The 25-year-old has made a splendid season to his Fenerbahce career with three goals from two appearances and he has also impressed for the national team with goals against England and the Czech Republic during the recent Euro 2020 qualifiers.

According to Aksam, talent-spotters from the Red Devils had monitored the performances of Muriqi, who possesses a genuine aerial threat with his height and physique.

Muriqi was recruited by Fenerbahce from Caykur Rizespor this summer for just £3.1m after an impressive 2018/19 season where he contributed 17 goals across all competitions.

United have been tipped to pursue a replacement for Romelu Lukaku, who parted ways with the club before the summer transfer deadline and it remains to be seen whether they are prepared to make a move for Muriqi.

Aside from United, Tottenham Hotspur have also been deemed to be tracking the progress of the marksman with manager Mauricio Pochettino keen on pursuing a specialist back-up striker to Harry Kane.
