Unai Emery reacts to Arsenal's draw at Watford
Arsenal head coach Unai Emery has acknowledged that Watford were the better team in the second period and the Gunners were made to rue for their mistakes.
The north London giants had a 2-0 lead at the half-time interval following a brace from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and it appeared that they could be on course for a second away win of the season.
However, that was not meant to be after a terrific comeback by the Hornets, which was aided by defensive mistakes from Sokratis and David Luiz at the heart of the backline.
Speaking after the 2-2 draw, Emery said that the Hornets are a much physical side compared to the Gunners and they capitalised on the mistakes made at the back.
He added that Quique Flores' side dominated the proceedings throughout the second period but he is still not pleased to come out of the game with a share of the spoils.
"They are physical, a very strong team. They pushed for our mistakes, they were playing for our mistakes. They won the second half and my summary is it is not a good point," he told Sky Sports.
Arsenal are currently in the seventh position in the league standings but they are separated from the top four on only goal difference. They are scheduled to face Eintracht Frankfurt on the road in the Europa League opener in midweek.
