Maddison wanted by United?

Manchester United are reportedly planning to make a raid for James Maddison from Leicester City after having previously pursued Harry Maguire from the east Midlands outfit.

The Red Devils boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has favoured the addition of young and hungry players to his squad and the recent transfer window saw the recruitment of Daniel James, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Maguire.

Each of those players have made an instant impact with the Mancunian giants and according to The Times, Maddison has now been earmarked as the next transfer target for Solskjaer.

It is added that the Red Devils could bid in upwards of £60m for the former Norwich City graduate, though it is unclear whether the Foxes will consider a mid-season sale of their playmaker.

Maddison has broken into Gareth Southgate's England squad on a couple of occasions but he has yet to earn an international cap with the Three Lions to date. The 22-year-old has contributed a couple of assists for the Foxes this term.
