Everton boss Marco Silva unhappy with sale of Lookman
Everton manager Marco Silva has for the first time opened up on the reasons why the club allowed Ademola Lookman to depart the Goodison Park outfit for pastures new. Lookman made a permanent transfer to RB Leipzig having spent a season on loan with the Bundesliga club.
Lookman bagged 5 goals in 11 games for RB Leipzig, with the club opting to sign the English youngster for a fee of around 24 million euros. Lookman's sale enabled the signing of Alex Iwobi from Arsenal.
However, Silva was disappointed that the club sold Lookman as he saw a clear future with the Toffees for the 21-year-old forward.
“At the end of last season he came to see me in his office to tell me what he was thinking. I respect his opinion but I said to him ‘you are in my plans again’," quipped Silva.
“Then came an offer, he had just two years left so we are talking about many, many things. It is not just a technical point of view. The quality is there, he has to change some things, but the quality is there.”
