Manchester United boss confirms midfielder injury boost ahead of Rochdale clash

Paul Pogba news

Pogba returns from an ankle injury

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed that Paul Pogba will make his comeback for tonight's League Cup third round clash against Rochdale at Old Trafford.

The France international has not featured for the Red Devils since the international break with an ankle problem but he seems to have recovered from the setback ahead of the Cup tie.

Speaking in a press conference, Solskjaer confirmed that Pogba is available for the midweek game but he may be restricted to a cameo role from the substitutes' bench.

"He'll probably get some minutes against Rochdale. But we definitely think he's ready for Arsenal," he was quoted as saying on the club's official website ahead of the Rochdale game.

Meanwhile, Marcus Rashford, Luke Shaw, Eric Bailly and Anthony Martial are among the high-profile names on the sidelines but the latter could return from a thigh problem in the lead up to the Gunners clash next week.
