Manchester United boss prepared for Liverpool challenge

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer news

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has said that the Red Devils have the perfect game to respond when they face Liverpool following the international break.

The Mancunian giants have experienced their worst ever beginning to a Premier League season and they are currently in the lower half of the table with just nine points on the board.

Their away form, in particular, has been a concern and most recently, they suffered a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Newcastle United on the road following a goal from Matthew Longstaff on debut.

Speaking after that game, Solskjaer said that he will analyse the club's poor start to the season and believes the Red Devils have the perfect challenge on their hands against the Reds after the international break.

"That's a perfect game for us. Luckily for us it's now the international break. We will sit down, hopefully we'll get a few players back. It's my responsibility. I need to sort their heads out," he told Sky Sports.

Jurgen Klopp's side are already 15 points ahead of United in the standings while they hold an eight-point advantage over reigning champions Manchester City, who are occupying the second spot.

Liverpool have not enjoyed much joy against the Red Devils at Old Trafford over the years and they should have the upper hand in the forthcoming fixture with the hosts struggling to score regular goals.
