Arsenal monitoring Hwang Hee-chan

Arsenal were reportedly keeping a close eye on South Korean forward Hwang Hee-chan during Red Bull Salzburg's 4-3 Champions League defeat to Liverpool this month.

The 23-year-old has been in exceptional form for the Austrian giants this campaign and he has already notched seven goals and 10 assists across all competitions.

According to The Mail, the north London side had sent their talent-spotters to keep an eye on the South Korean during the recent European clash between Salzburg and Liverpool, where he found the net.

The same outlet claims that a number of major European clubs were also in attendance to watch the young attacker and there could be a potential bidding battle for his services next summer.

Hwang has been with the Austrian heavyweights since 2015. He has contributed 36 goals from 97 appearances in all competitions. At the international level, he has been less successful with just three goals from 28 caps.

Arsenal are currently third in the league standings after eight games. They are scheduled to face Sheffield United away from home following the international break.
