Mandzukic set for United move?

Manchester United are deemed to have reached a verbal agreement with Juventus to land the signature of Mario Mandzukic at the turn of the year.

The Red Devils were fancied to pursue Mandzukic shortly after sanctioning the sale of Romelu Lukaku in the summer but they refused to meet the Bianconeri's £14m asking price for the marksman.

Mandzukic has since failed to make a single appearance for the Turin giants in any competition and reports have emerged that he could make the move to a top European outfit in January.

Amidst this, Tuttosport claims that United are the clear favourites to sign the former Bayern Munich man and they already have a verbal agreement in place to secure his services.

Maurizio Sarri's side are likely to reduce their valuation for the centre-forward and there are suggestions that they could accept a fee of around £9m for the 33-year-old's sale.

Manchester United have experienced a dismal beginning to the current league season and they are currently just two points off the relegation places after eight matches.
