Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil has reportedly offered himself to Barcelona after falling out-of-favour under Gunners boss Unai Emery.

The 30-year-old has managed just one league appearance for the Gunners this term and Emery has recently stated that the German does not deserve to make the matchday squad.

According to Marca, Ozil is open to the prospect of leaving the Gunners at the turn of the year and he has alerted the Blaugrana regarding his availability through his representative.

Ozil has less than two years remaining on his £350,000-a-week contract with the Gunners and the club are said to be looking at the prospect of offloading him in the New Year as they look to reduce their wagebill.

The former Germany international has previously featured for Barca's fierce rivals Real Madrid between 2010 and 2014, where he made 159 appearances while winning the Spanish La Liga and Copa del Rey.

Ozil has failed to make the matchday squad for the Gunners since the 5-0 drubbing of Nottingham Forest in the League Cup third round. There are no assurances that he will return to the mix after the international break.
