Tottenham chase Shorey

Tottenham are considering a summer move for Reading defender Nicky Shorey. The Reading full back is reportedly unhappy and not prepared to stay at the Royals next season as Spurs emerged as candidates for his signature.

Since Shorey has appeared for England he has become a prime target for several larger Premiership sides, including Tottenham.

Reading boss Steve Coppell has always remained keen to hang on to one of his best players, but the lure of Tottenham may prove too much.

Tottenham are putting together a £6 million package to tempt Reading into a sale.
