Wenger set for football management return?

Former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger will hold talks with Bayern Munich next week regarding the vacant managerial position at the Bavarian side. The out of work Frenchman is desperate to return to football management and could be set for a surprise position at the Bundesliga champions.

According to the Independent, Arsene Wenger will fly to Germany next week to have discussions with Bayern's board regarding the vacant position.

Bayern fired manager Niko Kovac just last week after a spell of poor form and now look set to replace him with former Arsenal boss Wenger.

The 70-year-old quipped:  “We decided together we will talk next week because I’m in Doha until Sunday. This is the true story.

“On Wednesday afternoon, Rummenigge called me. I could not answer and by politeness I called him back. He was in his car going to the game against Olympiakos. We talked for four to five minutes maximum and he told me they had assigned Hans-Dieter Flick to be the coach – he will manage the next two games."
