Barcelona to open talks with Chelsea star in January
Spanish champions Barcelona are reportedly planning to open contract negotiations with Chelsea winger Willian at the turn of the year.
Willian, 31, has been a key player under the guidance of Frank Lampard this term and he has already contributed three goals and three assists for the club in all competitions.
Despite this, his future with the club remain in doubt, considering his current contract is scheduled to expire following the conclusion of the current campaign.
As a result, Willian could potentially discuss a pre-contract with an overseas club in the New Year and Mundo Deportivo claims that the Blaugrana are looking into that possibility.
Willian, who has won two Premier League titles with the Blues, is said to be eyeing a multi-year contract extension at Stamford Bridge but the hierarchy are apparently reluctant to offer more than a 12-month deal.
Hence, there is the chance that he could be lured by the La Liga holders, considering they could offer him with a three-year deal on top of a reasonable hike on his wages.
