Solskjaer open to Matic sale under one condition

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is willing to sanction the sale of Nemanja Matic at the turn of the year, provided the club are able to pursue a replacement.

The Serbia international has fallen down the pecking order at the Red Devils this term and he has managed just three appearances in the English top-flight.

It has recently been claimed that Matic will push for a mid-season departure from the Red Devils, given he is currently behind the likes of Scott McTominay and Fred in the selection order for a midfield role.

However, it appears that Solskjaer won't be sanction his sale unless the club are able to pursue a replacement during the winter transfer window, The Telegraph claims.

Matic has only eight months remaining on his existing deal with the Red Devils but the club are expected to trigger a 12-month extension clause at their disposal.

Both AC Milan and Inter Milan are in the running to sign the former Chelsea man, who could be available for around £15m when the transfer window reopens.
