Bergwijn open to United transfer

PSV Eindhoven attacker Steven Bergwijn is reportedly interested in making the move to Manchester United next summer, provided they are able to offer him with Champions League football.

The Red Devils are presently nine points off the top four positions in the Premier League and it seems that they need to win the Europa League in order to qualify for Europe's elite competition next season.

According to The Mirror, the Red Devils will be eyeing attacking reinforcements at the end of the campaign and Bergwijn will be considered as one of their prime targets.

However, any deal may be dependent on United's return to the Champions League, given there are other elite European sides including Juventus, who are prepared to lure the Dutch forward.

Bergwijn is presently contracted to PSV until the summer of 2023 and reports indicate that the Eredivisie outfit will demand around £40m for the attacker's sale next summer.

United made only three signings in Daniel James, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Harry Maguire during the recent transfer window but all of them have established themselves as regular starters due to their consistent displays.
