Solskjaer wants Haaland at United

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has reportedly sent his personal scout to monitor the progress of Red Bull Salzburg forward Erling Braut Haaland.

The teenager has been a revelation for the Austrian heavyweights since joining them earlier in the year and in the current season, he has scored a staggering 26 goals from 18 games.

As a result, he has been attracting widespread interest and the Red Devils have been heavily linked of late due to Solskjaer's former association with the marksman at Molde.

According to The Athletic, Simon Wells has been personally sent by Solskjaer to track Haaland's performances and the 41-year-old has already been in attendance in a number of Salzburg games this season.

Haaland is currently valued at around £89m and he would most definitely want the assurance of Champions League football, should he pursue a bigger challenge elsewhere.

United are currently struggling to make the top four in the Premier League with a nine-point gap to fourth-placed Manchester City but they can still qualify for the elite competition by winning the Europa League title.
