Arsenal to exchange midfielder with Borussia Monchengladbach?
Arsenal are reportedly planning to offer Granit Xhaka to Borussia Monchengladbach in January in an attempt to sign Denis Zakaria.
Xhaka was stripped from the leadership role following his outburst with the fans during the Crystal Palace game last month and he has since failed to make a single appearance for the Gunners.
Newcastle United and AC Milan have been credited with an interest in Xhaka of late but the Gunners appear to have other plans in mind ahead of the New Year.
According to The Mirror, the north London side will offer Monchengladbach with the opportunity to re-sign Xhaka, provided they can land the services of Zakaria in a part-exchange deal.
Zakaria has been attracting interest from elite European sides and he has been one of the standout players in Monchengladbach's strong start to the campaign which sees them at the top of the league.
Aside from Arsenal, Liverpool have also been associated with Xhaka's Swiss compatriot but they are unlikely to make any mid-season move for the 22-year-old.
