Poch wants Man United post

Mauricio Pochettino is reportedly keen on becoming the Manchester United manager following his release from Tottenham Hotspur last month.

The Argentine was recently sacked at Spurs after five-and-a-half years in charge and he has since returned to his homeland for a short break.

According to Manchester Evening News, Pochettino remains enchanted by the prospect of managing the Red Devils and he wanted to take up the position shortly after Jose Mourinho's dismissal last year.

It is added that he would prefer an instant return to management and he is waiting on a potential approach from the Red Devils, who are assessing the future of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

United are presently ninth in the league standings with an eight-point gap to the top four and reports have emerged that Solskjaer could get the sack, should the team suffer defeats to Spurs and Manchester City in the forthcoming games.

Meanwhile, there have also been claims (Goal.com) that executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward could stick with Solskjaer for the entire campaign regardless of whether United finish in the European places or not.
