Alonso to Inter on loan?

Inter Milan manager Antonio Conte is reportedly keen on landing the signature of Marcos Alonso on a short-term loan from Chelsea during the winter transfer window.

The Spaniard has made just one league appearance in the past one-and-a-half months for the Blues and that came during the 2-0 win at Tottenham Hotspur, where he started in the left wing-back position.

According to Tuttomercato, Conte is keen on a reunion with Alonso, who was one of the standout performers during his managerial stint at Chelsea between 2016 and 2018, where they won the Premier League title.

The same outlet claims that the Italian may propose a loan deal for the Spaniard at the beginning of the year with the option to sign him on a permanent contract next summer.

Alonso started the season as the first choice on the left side of the backline but over the past few months, Emerson and Cesar Azpilicueta have shared the duties in the position.

The former Fiorentina man has been impressive when it comes to the attacking side of his game but he has lacked the defensive awareness which has been criticised by some of the fans.
