Chelsea yet to agree new contract with leading star
Chelsea have reportedly failed to find the breakthrough with regards to a new long-term deal for Tammy Abraham.
The Blues graduate has two-and-a-half years remaining on his current contract but the club are aiming to reward him with an extension at the earliest.
According to Goal.com, the 22-year-old is clearly content with his stay at the west London giants but that has not necessarily fastened negotiations over a contract renewal.
Abraham is understood to want a £180,000-a-week deal similar to that of compatriot Callum Hudson-Odoi and he is said to prefer a straight package rather than the inclusion of performance-based clauses.
As a result, it appears that there has been a contract standoff at the present point of time, given his representatives are aware of the importance of the striker, who has netted 14 goals for the Blues this season.
Abraham recently bagged the winning goal in the 2-1 comeback triumph over Arsenal on the road. That was his first-ever strike against the so-called big six in any competition.
