Manchester United to swoop for Portuguese midfielder?
Manchester United are reportedly looking into a move for midfielder Gedson Fernandes, who is presently in the ranks of Portuguese side Benfica.
The Red Devils have been linked with a wide range of midfielders since the summer transfer window but they have yet to recruit an option, who can possibly enhance the performances of the side.
According to Sky Sports News, the Mancunian giants are likely to make a move for a new central midfielder next month, particularly with Nemanja Matic tipped to head through the exit door.
It is added that 20-year-old Fernandes has caught their radar with his performances over the past year and they have a good chance of luring him in January, given he has recently fallen out of favour at Benfica.
The Portuguese's representatives are understood to have already held negotiations with interested parties and a fee of around £34m could be sufficient to convince Benfica to part ways with the midfielder.
