Fernandes back on Man Utd radar?

Manchester United are reportedly planning a renewed attempt to sign midfielder Bruno Fernandes from Sporting Lisbon.

The Red Devils were heavily linked with the midfielder last summer but they were put off by Sporting's £64m valuation of the Portuguese.

Since then, United have experienced a mixed season by their standards and there have been multiple games, where they have yearned for a quality creative midfielder in their ranks.

According to Goal.com, the Red Devils are willing to reignite their interest in the Portugal international, who has bagged eight goals and five assists in the Primeira Liga this term.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is currently working with limited options in the midfield with both Scott McTominay and Paul Pogba expected to be on the sidelines for the next few months.

United have been regularly criticised by the fans in recent months following their failure to find replacements for Ander Herrera and Marouane Fellaini during last summer's transfer window.

Aside from a box-to-box midfielder, United are also in the hunt for a new marksman with Solskjaer aiming to add competition for places upfront where Anthony Martial has struggled to find the consistency.
