Man City to offer £45m for Juventus defender
Manchester City are set to offer £45million for Juventus defender Merih Demiral claims Manchester Evening News.
Cityzens' defensive problems have been blatant in this season following the injury to their star defender Aymeric Laporte.
Pep Guardiola is currently missing the right personnel in the back-line and has now reportedly urged City to make an offer for Demiral.
The Turkish centre-back has been gaining interest recently from England, as clubs like Leicester City and Arsenal have all asked about his availability. Both the clubs have had an offer rejected last week.
Despite being a bench-warmer at the start of this season, Demiral has slowly gained the faith of Maurizio Sarri, and also managed to supersede Matthijs de Ligt with his impressive displays. The 21-year-old was signed from Sassuolo in the summer.
Cityzens are also said to be interested in Demiral’s compatriot and the Foxes centre-back Caglar Soyuncu.
Guardiola's men managed to beat Manchester City in the Carabao Cup's third-round game. They will face Aston Villa in the weekend's Premier League fixture.
