Frank Lampard provides transfer update on Danish defender
Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has stressed that Andreas Christensen won't be heading through the exit door during the ongoing transfer window.
The Denmark international has struggled for regular playing time with the Blues this term and he has made only four appearances since the end of November.
The Blues have been tipped to sign a central defender this month and reports have recently suggested that the Dane could be permitted to leave the club after the arrival of the new recruit.
However, speaking in a press conference, Lampard has ruled out the defender's exit amid the speculation linking him with a move to Serie A side AC Milan.
"I can rule it out. I like Andreas as a player; I've always liked him. I used to train with him and saw the talent coming through. "I want Andreas to be the best he can be," he told.
Chelsea recently picked up a comfortable 3-0 win over Burnley in the Premier League. The result sees them in control of the fourth spot with a five-point advantage over Manchester United.
