Aston Villa, Crystal Palace want to sign Manchester United star

Aston Villa and Crystal Palace have both entered the race to sign Ashley Young from Manchester United during the ongoing transfer window.

The England international has less than six months remaining on his contract with the Red Devils and he has recently made his mind up to leave the club rather than seeing out his deal.

Inter Milan have been touted as favourites to acquire his signature this month but it appears that the club have yet to find the breakthrough in terms of the transfer fee for Young.

Amidst this, The Sun claims that both Palace and former club Villa have expressed an interest in Young and they are optimistic of taking advantage of the contract situation.

Young was not included in the Red Devils' matchday squad to face Norwich City over the weekend and reports have claimed that the versatile player may have played his final game in the club's colours.
