Manchester United planning fresh move for Portuguese star
Manchester United are reportedly planning a bid of around £65m for Bruno Fernandes as they seek to beat Tottenham Hotspur to the signing of the Portugal international.
The 25-year-old was the subject of interest from both United and Spurs over the summer but neither of them were able to meet the price tag set by Sporting before the transfer deadline.
The Red Devils have already held a meeting with the Sporting president this month regarding Fernandes and they now appear keen on lodging an approach for his services.
It has been regularly cited that the club are reluctant to pay more than £50m for the Portuguese but The Mirror claims that the club may be prepared to meet Sporting's asking price due to the competition from Spurs.
United are wary that Spurs, managed by former Red Devils boss Jose Mourinho may come with a transfer bid and they are keen to jump ahead by placing their offer on the table.
