Nani screamer nets Utd 3 pts

Portuguese midfielder Nani scored a screamer as Man Utd defeated Tottenham 1-0 at Old Trafford. In an excellent end to end game, the stalemate was ended in the 68th minute as Nani picked up the ball from 25 yards and smashed it home into the top left corner.

Tottenham will feel hard done by, particularly as there was a couple of very close penalty decisions. Berbatov also had a shot cleared off the line by the impressive Rio Ferdinand. Man Utd however took control of the game in the midfield and Nani's goal will be a contender for the goal of the month. Nani's trademark backflip celebrations sparked pandemonium in the stands.

Man Utd had most of the possession but Tottenham looked impressive on the break, especially the Utd linked Berbatov, who was a threat throughout. In the early stages Ricardo Rocha had a glorious chance to put Spurs in front as his header just missed. Later, Jermaine Jenas also saved Tottenham as he cleared the ball off the line.

The result will put even more pressure on Dutchman Martin Jol, and many are already predicting that in 2 weeks time Tottenham's visit to Arsenal could make or break Martin Jol's Tottenham tenure.
