Mesut Ozil delivers fresh update on his Arsenal future
Arsenal playmaker Mesut Ozil has insisted that he is clearly content with the proceedings at the north London club and will honour the remaining length of his current contract.
The German has endured another testing season with the Gunners but he has significantly improved his performances under new boss Mikel Arteta over the past few weeks.
In an interview relayed by The Mirror, Ozil has indicated that he is very pleased with his current contract situation at the Gunners and will stay put until the summer of 2021 at the least.
"I am very pleased with my contract that will continue here this year and the year after. I can't tell you what the future will bring, I'm excited about the future, but I don't know what's going to happen," he said.
Ozil has started every game under the guidance of Arteta this term and he is expected to command a similar role when the Gunners entertain Sheffield United at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
The Gunners are already 11 points adrift of the top four positions and they face a must-win situation against the Blades in order to keep their slender Champions League hopes alive through the league.
