Frank Lampard sends message to Chelsea board on Willian
Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has reportedly requested the Blues' hierarchy to resolve the contract situation of Willian in the near future.
The Brazilian has been a key player under Lampard's guidance this term and his future remains uncertain with his contract expiring in six months' time.
Lampard has previously said that he is optimistic over a contract extension for the 31-year-old and Evening Standard claims that he has communicated his desire to the hierarchy.
It is added that the he has requested a quick resolution over the winger's future, given other experienced players such as Olivier Giroud and Pedro are expected to leave the club.
Willian has amassed five goals and five assists for the Blues in all competitions this term. He has been almost ever-present in the Premier League since the beginning of September.
Chelsea are yet to make a senior signing during the January transfer window but there is the anticipation that they may pursue a new midfielder and defender before the deadline.
