Cavani on Man Utd radar?

Manchester United could reportedly make the attempt to sign Edinson Cavani from Paris Saint-Germain following the injury setback for Marcus Rashford.

Rashford has been the club's leading scorer this term with 19 goals in all competitions but he won't feature for them during the coming months after suffering a double stress fracture.

As a result, the club have been fancied to spend on a possible replacement this month and as per Manchester Evening News, they could swoop for the services of Cavani, who has handed in a transfer request at Parc des Princes.

The same publication adds that Cavani would himself be open to the move but United will still have to pay a fee of around £25m for a player whose contract with the French champions expires at the end of the season.

Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has also talked up the possibility of signing an experienced striker like Cavani this month. The Blues have remained inconsistent in recent months despite their fourth position on the table.
