Arsenal to make loan bid for Bayern Munich defender

Arsenal are reportedly prepared to make an attempt to sign Bayern Munich defender Jerome Boateng as they seek to cover up the injury absence of Calum Chambers.
The England international sustained a season-ending knee injury last month but that has not necessarily seen the club spend on a suitable replacement in recent weeks.
However, according to The Star, the Gunners are looking at the prospect of adding another centre-back to their ranks and they are prepared to make an approach to sign Boateng from Bayern.
The German's current deal with Bayern is due to expire at the end of next season and reports indicate that the Bundesliga champions may entertain a temporary exit for the World Cup winner with the option to buy in the summer.
Boateng has struggled to cement a regular spot in the Bayern lineup this term but he has still been able to make 14 appearances in the Bundesliga an Champions League combined.
Arsenal face Chelsea in tomorrow's Premier League meeting on the road.
