Liverpool rival Chelsea for Spanish playmaker

Liverpool have joined the transfer race for Real Madrid star Isco, who also turns out to be a key target for Chelsea, according to Football London.

The report also states that the Los Blancos would never accept anything lower than £59m for the Spanish playmaker.

Isco’s downfall has been evident since the time under former manager Santiago Solari, and the 27-year-old has now become an overlooked option for Zinedine Zidane as well.

The former Malaga man has featured 11 times in La Liga this season without any significant goal and assist contribution.

Reds are now willing to battle with Frank Lampard’s side for the signing of the Spaniard, whose contract expires in June 2022.

The Merseyside outfit recently added the Japanese talent Takumi Minamino to the squad, which marked their first signing of this transfer window.
