United end Bruno Fernandes pursuit

Manchester United have reportedly ended negotiations with Sporting Lisbon to sign midfielder Bruno Fernandes during the current transfer window.

The Portuguese has been heavily associated with the Red Devils since the summer and the club's pursuit has intensified this month after injury setbacks for Scott McTominay and Paul Pogba.

Over the past few weeks, the Red Devils have failed to come to an agreement over the transfer fee and reports have recently emerged that the Portuguese outfit won't accept anything less than £68m.

As a result, there has been an impasse in the transfer talks in recent days and The Sun reports that the Red Devils are now expected to look at options elsewhere to bolster the midfield department.

The same publication adds that the decision has been taken by co-chairman Joel Glazer and the club are unlikely to return for Fernandes unless Sporting are prepared to lower their asking price to around £60m.

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has recently hinted that there will be both incomings and outgoings at the club before the transfer window closes next week.
