Chong in Inter Milan talks

Inter Milan have reportedly opened discussions with Manchester United winger Tahith Chong over a free transfer at the end of the season.

Chong has less than five months remaining on his deal at Old Trafford and he is reluctant to pen an extension without the assurance of regular gametime.

According to FCInterNews, the Nerazzurri are continuing with their negotiations with the player's agent after failing to reach an agreement following a meeting in January.

The player's entourage have reduced their fee demands from £5.9m to £4.2m but there still remains a stumbling block with the Nerazzurri reluctant to pay more than £1.5m.

Chong has made only eight appearances for United over the course of the current campaign and most of those have come in the Cup competitions where Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has opted to rest some of the regulars.

Aside from Chong, Angel Gomes is in a similar contract standoff with the Red Devils and he has been fancied to join one of Juventus or Barcelona on a free this summer.
