Liverpool keeping tabs on £50m Serie A midfielder
Liverpool have reportedly scouted Inter midfielder Marcelo Brozovic during the Sunday’s action-packed Milan derby.
The Croatian played the full duration, eventually helping Nerazzurri beat their arch-rivals AC Milan 4-2 by scoring a goal.
Brozovic is also on the transfer radar of the La Liga giants Madrid, who are willing to bring him to Bernabeu next season.
The report also states that the 27-year-old currently holds a release clause worth £50m, which can be triggered only by the clubs outside Italy.
The former Dinamo Zagreb man’s contract runs until 2022 however Inter are trying to prolong his stay at the San Siro.
Brozovic has been ever-present for the Nerazzurri since joining them in 2015.
He also played a pivotal role for the eventual runners-up Croatia in the World Cup 2018.
He traditionally acts as a deep-lying playmaker despite tending to play in the central midfield position.
Jurgen Klopp’s side could benefit from Brozovic as he resembles Fabinho a lot in the playing style.
