Tottenham confirm injury blow for Son Heung-Min
Tottenham forward Son Heung Min has been ruled out for several weeks after picking up an arm injury against Aston Villa.
The South Korean star is poised for a lengthy spell in the sidelines as he will undergo surgery on his fractured arm.
A statement on Spurs’ official website read:
"Heung-Min Son is to undergo surgery this week after sustaining a fracture to his right arm. Following surgery, our medical staff shall be reviewing management options for Son’s rehabilitation with the player expected to be sidelined for many weeks."
Jose Mourinho also reinstated that the possibilities are less for Son to return to action before the end of the season.
The 27-year-old has been instrumental for the North London club this season, racking up 9 goals and 7 assists in the Premier League. Furthermore, he scored the injury-time winner against Villans in the same game where he picked up the injury.
And the injury setback comes as a big blow for Spurs ahead of the Champions League game against RB Leipzig.
Having already dealt with Harry Kane’s injury at the start of the year, Mourinho has a mammoth task in his hands to play without two key players in the attack.
