Liverpool yet to open transfer talks for German striker
Liverpool have yet to open talks with RB Leipzig over a possible summer deal for German forward Timo Werner, The Independent reports.
The German has bagged 20 goals and six assists in the Bundesliga this term and his form has caught the eye of the Premier League leaders.
Jurgen Klopp is obviously a huge admirer of the marksman but The Independent claims that the Reds have yet to engage in transfer discussions with the Bundesliga outfit.
Werner is said to have a low release clause of around £48m on the contract signed earlier in the season and reports have previously claimed that interested clubs should meet the price before the end of April.
Otherwise, Leipzig wil have the luxury of placing their own price tag on the Germany international, who is also on the radar of Chelsea and Bayern Munich.
Aside from Werner, the Merseyside giants are said to be looking into a move for Todd Cantwell from Norwich City. The Canaries value the attacker at around £30m.
