Loris Karius to return to Liverpool this summer?
German goalkeeper Loris Karius could reportedly join the first-team squad at Liverpool once his loan stint with Besiktas completes.
Karius is presently in the second year of his two-season loan with Besiktas but the Turkish outfit have no plans to sign him permanently for £7.25m.
As such, he is expected to return to Anfield in the summer and The Athletic claims that the German could act as the back-up goalkeeper for next term.
Adrian has been utilised in the position this term but the Spaniard has been fancied to leave the Reds for a return to Real Betis in the summer.
Karius is presently contracted to the Merseyside outfit until the summer of 2021 and the club are unlikely to renew his contract beyond that period.
Liverpool's next Premier League game will come up against West Ham United at Anfield on Monday night. They are currently 22 points ahead of Manchester City at the top of the league standings.
