Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang open to Arsenal contract extension
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang open to Arsenal contract extension
Arsenal captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has refused to rule out the possibility of signing a new long-term contract with the north London giants.
The 30-year-old has been with the Gunners for the past two years and during this period, he has been hugely successful with 60 goals from just 95 appearances for the club.
Despite this, his future with the Gunners remains doubtful with his contract expiring in 17 months' time but Le 10 Sport claims that the forward could still extend his deal.
Aubameyang has been in a contract standoff over the past year but reports claim that the hierarchy will reopen talks with the Gabonese in order to convince him to stay for the long-term.
Aubameyang is presently attracting interest from the likes of Inter Milan and Barcelona and the Gunners' failure to qualify for next season's Champions League could see him head through the exit door.
Arsenal are presently four points adrift of a Champions League spot in the league after back-to-back wins over Newcastle United and Everton following the winter break.
