Manchester United scout Real Madrid's emerging star
Manchester United reportedly sent their scouts to keep a close eye on Martin Odegaard during Real Sociedad's La Liga clash against Valencia last weekend.
The Norway international is currently with Sociedad on a two-year loan deal from Real Madrid but Los Blancos are said to be considering the option to recalling at the end of the season.
According to El Diario Vasco, the Red Devils are keeping tabs on the progress of the youngster, who has contributed four goals and five assists in the Spanish top-flight this season.
Los Blancos are said to consider Odegaard as a possible successor to the ageing Luka Modric but reports claim that United could make a summer approach with chief scout Marcel Bout impressed with what he has seen of the versatile midfielder.
United have placed the focus on signing young and exciting players over the past year and they are likely to follow the same route this summer rather than seeking high-profile recruits with significant price tags.
