Mesut Ozil's agent provides fresh update on midfielder's contract
The representative of Mesut Ozil has indicated that the midfielder won't be parting ways with Arsenal at the end of the ongoing campaign.
The German has struggled to make regular goalscoring contributions over the past few years and this has led to the speculation that he could be offloaded in the summer.
However, his agent Erkut Sogut has dismissed that possibility while indicating that there is no chance of Ozil leaving before the expiry of his contract in June 2021.
"We don't even talk about it, because he still has one-and-a-half-years left. He still has 15 months to go. Until then, he will stay at Arsenal, for sure. He will stay until the end of his contract. There's no chance he'll leave," he told.
Ozil has been ever-present for the Gunners in the Premier League under Mikel Arteta in recent months but he has managed just one league goal during this period.
Arsenal are likely to pursue a new player for the number 10 role in the summer and it remains to be seen whether the attacker changes his stance based on the incomings.
