Barcelona make transfer decision on Aubameyang
Barcelona have decided to end their transfer interest in Arsenal captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and will instead focus on signing RB Leipzig's Timo Werner.
Aubameyang was heavily linked with the Blaugrana during the midway stage of the season but the Gunners had no plans of parting ways with their leading goalscorer.
Still, Aubameyang has been regularly associated with a possible summer exit but it appears that the Blaugrana won't make an attempt to sign him when the transfer window reopens.
According to Spanish journalist Guillem Balague, the Catalan giants will focus on pursuing a young and experienced forward in the summer and they have their sights on landing Werner from Leipzig.
He added that the Gunners are keen on keeping hold of Aubameyang beyond the summer and believes the Gabonese will eventually put pen-to-paper on a new long-term deal.
Aubameyang's current contract is due to expire at the end of next season. Earlier this year, the 30-year-old cleared doubts regarding his future while stating that he wants to take the club back to the top.
